Entering Airports

Entering airports can be somewhat different depending on where you are in the world. Most run along similar lines so if you know how to get through your local airport, that is a good start.

However, there are some airports that you cannot enter unless you are a passenger. You will be asked to show your ticket/boarding pass (if you printed one already) and passport to be allowed in.

Some airports have a first high level screening of luggage and bags as you enter the airport. Examples are Istanbul, Abu Dhabi and Almaty. You just put your bags (suitcases, carry on, laptop bag, handbag, purse) on the conveyor belt and they will pass through the large size scanner. Then, just collect you bags on the other side and progress to check in counters.

Once inside the terminal you will need to check in.
