Meals, Snacks and Drinks

Meals, snacks and drinks will be offered on all flights. What is offered will depend on the length of the flight and what class you are flying. For example, discount airlines may expect you to purchase your drinks and snacks from a menu card in the seat pocket. Alternatively you may be offered the opportunity to order and pay for this when you are making your reservation. On short-haul flights on regular service airlines, a meal may be provided at meal times or only a snack in between meal times. On an international, long-haul flight, 2 meals (dinner and breakfast, for example) may be served with snacks available in between.

Special Meals can be ordered when making your reservation. There are usually many options for special meals based on preference, dietary requirements and religious beliefs. Take a look at your airline website for details. If you do chose a special menu, it will be presented to you usually ahead of other passengers meal service.

On long-haul international flights, often a menu is provided which will outline choices. A choice of 2 different main courses may be offered in economy class. An extensive menu of options will most likely be offered in business and first class. A choice of drinks will be offered and it is best to go easy on the alcohol as it is extremely dehydrating.

Hot Tip:

Details on specific airline’s entertainment, food and beverage offers are outlined on their website alongside the flight number. The flight number is important because depending on the time of the flight, the meal service may differ. For example a breakfast menu will be offered in the morning and a dinner menu in the evening.
