This restaurant is known for its Hainanese Chicken Rice (usually called Chicken Rice), which is Singapore’s most famous dish. The menu is Chinese Singaporean and much wider. They have special menus for holidays (eg Chinese New Year) and the food is delicious. You have to order Chicken Rice! and get some other dishes to share. It is inexpensive and you can order take away. You can make a reservation and there is a line to wait if you turn up but usually quite fast. They cater well to big groups at the Balestier outlet. There area many outlets but this one is the original. They serve beer but no other alcohol. Mostly the Chinese drink tea! Service is functional. Open 11am – 445pm for lunch and 5pm – 430am Monday – Saturday. Same hours on Sunday except it closes at 3am! The other outlets close before midnight.
