This Singapore institution has been making the best Murtabak for over 100 years. It is in the Arab Street district and has a wide range of dishes (curries, Briyani, Goreng and more) but the Murtabak (chicken, lamb, beef as you prefer) is what they are known for. As you walk up to Zam Zam, you can look in through the windows to watch them making Murtabak – how they make the dough so thin and do not tear is beyond me. After being mesmerized by that process, head in the door and up the stairs in this traditional shop house restaurant. A waiter will come to your table. A medium Murtabak is enough for 2 for lunch (unless you are really hungry and that will cost around $10 (about $7) plus drinks

The lime juice in this restaurant is authentic and not too sweet, just the way I like it.

And it is inexpensive. Enjoy!
